Call for Nominations for FY09 SWE-SNH Section Officers

Update: It's official! SWE-SNH is an official section as of May 12th!

It is time to elect officers to govern the SWE
southern NH section for FY09. These officers will serve for FY09 beginning July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009 (a one year term). To hold an office one must be a SWE member in good standing. A non-member can run if their application is in process, but must be a member before assuming office.

Officer positions being elected:

President
Vice President
Treasurer
Secretary
Section Representative to the Council of Representatives (COR rep)

Non-required officer position - open for election:

Alternate Section
Representative to the Council of Representatives (Alt COR rep)

Note: the 2nd VP and 3rd
VP positions recently elected serve through June
30, 2009

Descriptions of duties, responsibilities and
qualifications for these offices can be found under the "About Us"
section as "Section Officer Summaries SNH FY09". This
document also includes a more detailed description of the election process.

The deadline for submitting candidate
nominations is May 18, 2008. Candidates may be self
nominated. A "willingness to be considered" consent form must be
submitted. This is also posted with the officer descriptions on the website as
"FY09 SWE-SNH Call for Nom
Attachments". Each candidate will be allowed to submit a statement no
longer than 250 words, to be distributed to members along with the election
ballot. The slate of officer candidates will be issued by May 19th. A
15 days period will then commence for petition ballots (also described in the
"Section Officer Summaries SNH FY09" document on
the website). The ballot will be issued by June 5th, with returns due by June
27th. A simple majority of the votes cast will determine the outcomes.
