State of Mind Description (from Dick Bozoian)

We, at BAE Systems, use the term State of Mind (SOM) to refer to the psychological/emotional functioning present in our Leadership and Organization as a whole. In a healthy SOM, people are resilient, exhibit self-confidence, are considerate to others and in general perform at their best. Conversely, when a low SOM exits, egos come to bear and both individual and team performance deteriorates. In our SOM initiative, we assist leaders to more consistently live in a healthy psychological state which allows them to create healthy environments leading to enhanced productivity and customer satisfaction all of which is imperative for continued business success. Intelligence together with wisdom and common sense (healthy SOM) represents the winning formula for any enterprise. The world is full of intelligent, hard working and well-intentioned people. What’s missing is wisdom which only surfaces in a healthy State of Mind.
